I accept for the same reason I accepted the Magics trade with the Clippers. The main point here is whether Alex James is committed to this project in the long term, and I think he is - judging by the length of his explanations. Whilst new Rockets GM Daryl Morey can trade the main core of his team in a deal which is relatively fair; I will probably reject that Rockets/Warriors trade because Morey is a newbie here, instantly broke a rule by posting a link to another sim league even though I told him to read the rules, and has shown no indication that he's here for the long haul. Alex James here though is OKC GM over at D5 and has posted lengthy explanations here and in a PM to me. I also understand his reasoning behind restructuring the Magic. I think Otis Smith could've done a much better job in real life, and although I think the Magic could get a lot more for these trades and would be better off shopping around for better deals, I accept nonetheless.

I'm sorry but I can't accept this. I know you have a plan but the two best players by a pretty big gap are going to New Jersey. If you switch Pietrus with Gortat or Bass then I will accept.

I wasn't even interested in getting Pietrus, I think Orlando just wanted to include him as a salary dump. This trade causes me to have an extra $23,000,000 in cap for next season, but I'm fine with that as I have a pretty formidable starting lineup and a few pieces left over to try and trade for a PF.
Also, as a side note, a trade very similar to this happened in real life when NJ send Carter to Orlando for Courtney Lee
Anyway, I accept... guess there's a stalemate though

Pietrus is not the second best player. That's Courtney Lee. That point is arguable though. What is inarguable is that in 3 years Pietrus will be on the other side of 30, and being paid 5,300,000. Courtney Lee will be in his 20's, further developed, and being paid around 40% of what Pietrus will be. Lee is arguably the greater player today, and he is by far the greatest value. And in 3 years, he will not only be the second best, though the best player in this exchange.
In comparison to Gortat and Bass, Pietrus is the lowest value. Josh is correct, he was included purely because of his contract. He has peaked as a 20 minute wing. Bass is a backup as well, though his contract is not quite as expensive, and post players tend to carry greater value. Gortat is another case altogether. He carries by far the greatest value. He is a starting caliber center. He is great defensively, and on the boards, athletic, and competent offensively. He is one of the rare legit centers in the NBA. He is a 68 in DLite, but despite his contract, he is widely considered the most valuable trade asset on the Magic. His value is far higher than Bass, and definitely Pietrus.
I respect the effort of the TC, though I will ask for a reconsideration, purely because including Gortat or Bass in favor of Pietrus in the exchange(in the case that will be accepted by NJ) will not be in the best interests of the future of my team. Thanks.

I accept this deal. It's a good trade for what both teams are trying to accomplish. Lee is a good young player who was traded for VC IRL. Plus ORL gets to dump 23M in this deal. I don't see how this isn't fair? This is a great trade for a team that's rebuilding, they pick up a young player with potential, dump over 20M in salary AND get a first rounder.

I disagree with what you are doing with your team but in my opinion the trade committee is here to stop stupid trades, while I think this is a mistake (like the Clippers trade too) you have a plan, and have put thought into what you are doing and you are aware that it might not work out, unlike some of the bad deals (most notably by Blake) that get thrown up without considering how it affects your team. So, I accept.
Also, why does everyone like Gortat so much? I see him as like a 12 and 12 guy at best.

Thanks for reconsidering and the swift word.
As for Gortat, actually I believe he's around a 12/12 player as well. That alone represents that he is great on the boards, and competent offensively, but his complete value is not represented by his stats. He has great athleticism for a center, is around 7'0", and is a very solid defender.
A part of his value must be in the era he plays. There are not a great number of players with his abilities, so his value is in great part due to his relative rarity. I expect he may start on the majority of the teams in the league. He is not a great player, and he'll never be an offensive option on a championship team, but his talents are essential to a great team.
