sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/news/story?id=5550421Yeah I talked briefly about this in the shoutbox, I get the fact that Noah is one of the upcoming bigs in the game, and I think he can only get better, I see him as Anderson Varajao with a possible game on Offense (basically improving on Offense), but Carmelo is Carmelo man, with Rose, Boozer, Brewer, Taj Gibson, and Korver this team can easily vault into the top 2 or 3 (right now they are like 5 behing the big 3 and MIL, and then you got teams like ATL, CHA, and possibly PHI that can cause heck for Chicago). With Carmelo you don't have that problem, and you know what your gonna get out of him (yes I know Tom thibodeau is a defensive HC, but when you get a chance to get talent like this, you gotta take it). They made the same mistake with Gordon and Deng when the Kobe, Gasol, Amare, Bosh, and KG rumors to the Bulls were happening, they wanted to stick it out with their "YOUNG" guys.

If getting Melo means either Taj or Kurt Thomas being their starting C then it isn't worth it. Also with Boston continuing to age I'd say the Bulls could be put anywhere from 3rd to 5th as they are right now so no point in trading away your starting C for a guy they could most likely land as a free agent next offseason.

Well there are a few points on why they might not want to do it, one being that Melo might split after the season to New York and then the Bulls just gave up Noah for nothing. Derrick Rose is the Bull's star player but he is pretty quiet and shy. He can speak up when he has to but most of the time that is Noah job, his voice is heard in the locker room.

If it means Noah leaving the Bulls then it might not be worth it.

The Bulls should absolutely do this. Championship teams seem to be built around superstars, I mean that strikes me as by far the most likely way to build a championship team, the only exception I can think of is the Larry Brown Pistons. With Melo they can dominate in free agency and combine with Rose & Boozer to challenge the Heat, Magic and Celtics in the East. They'll probably need a few more pieces though.

The Bulls will be crazy to pass on Carmelo for the sake of Joakim Noah. In a league with the Lakers and James/Wade/Bosh, a team of Rose, Boozer, and Noah is a pretender. Carmelo may or may not transform that, but he provides hope.
The Bulls will be weak at center initially, but a serviceable center will come along sooner than later. This move is about 5 years from now, and not 3 months.
And I will assume the exchange will come along with an extension, and if not I can't see why Carmelo leaves Chicago to begin with. And even if there is a 50% shot he leaves, Chicago still has to make the move. A 50% shot at contending is greater than the 0% Chicago is working with now.

Apparently the Nuggets and Carmelo haven't even met yet and Nuggets haven't discussed trades with other teams yet. Will have to see what happens in the future then I guess. I would love to have Melo on the Bulls would just be hard seeing Noah go.
