Vujacic 71 $5,000,000 $5,475,113 Fisher 75 $5,048,000 1st '12 2nd'11 total: $10,048,000
for
Hunter 68 $3,696,000 Conley 76 $3,883,800 $4,913,007 $6,480,256 total: $7,579,800
i accept. works cuz grizzlies are like over 6 millions under the cap. Sad to see Fisher leaving...Griz offerd me the deal and well i accept cuz conley is younger...didnt really develop but that might come and so i risk it and give my shoote rin vujacic and 2 draft picks for him. Fisher gives the Griz a great veteran leadership he young team will need in the playoffs.

I accept. I know what Fisher can do. Doesnt hurt that he's also an Arkansas kid. Me being from AR. My team needed some veteran leadership, and thats exactly what I get in Derek Fisher.

I know Mike Conley has underperformed in the NBA, but how does it suit the direction of the Grizzlies organization to trade for a PG with one, maybe two years left in him? I don't understand why this trade's being made from the standpoint of the Grizz.

I don't understand why this trade's being made from the standpoint of the Grizz. as u said conley underperformed...i guess in the end by start of the season i wont even let him start...but he is a nice backup for me...Fisher is in great shape and will have 3-4 great years left from the 2009 offseason...and the grizzlies get 2 draft picks too

I think this kind of works for the Grizzlies actually, IRL they have basically given up on Mike Conley at PG, they sent OJ Mayo to summerleague to give him some experience running a team. There is no skill drop from Conley to Fisher, and they are still a very young team so getting the guy who could be the best leader in the NBA is a great presence in the locker room. It gives the Grizzlies a year or two to find their next PG prospect before Fisher rides off into the sunset.
Not a great trade, but I don't think it is all that unrealistic, I will accept.

Doesn't really make sense for either team IMO, but its not bad enough to reject....
