81 Rudy Gay - $3,280,997 - $4,422,784 82 O.J. Mayo - $4,456,200 - $5,632,637 - $7,390,01975 Jamaal Tinsley - $738,091 71 Sasha Vujacic - $5,000,000 - $5,475,113 69 Hasheem Thabeet - $4,458,840 - $4,793,280 - $5,127,720 - $6,471,183 - $8,444,893 1st '10 MEM 1st '12 LALPick. 2nd '11 MEM $17,934,128 for 86 Kevin Durant - $4,796,880 - $6,053,663 - $7,900,03073 Nick Collison - $6,250,000 - $6,750,000 71 Nenad Krstic - $5,160,832 - $5,543,116$16,207,712 I accpet. I get Durant, which is great. I put him with veteran leadership in Fisher, and a solid front line in Randolph and Gasol. Both of these things are something he did not have last year, but still managed to get them to the playoffs. I send Mayo and Gay, hard to do, but getting Durant back makes it better. This helps round out OKC's starters. Westbrook, Mayo, Gay, Green, Curry ( ). Both Mayo and Gay are young, so it helps keep building for the future. Heard on a FIBA game the other day. Gay is the 2nd units Kevin Durant. I also send him 2 draft picks, to help with youth movement. He had also mentioned that he liked Vujacic and Thabeet. Both of those guys are included in this trade. Tinsley will help bring him a guy that can help run his 2nd unit. Be a solid backup pg. Collison and Kristic will be good backups for me. I think this trade is a lot better than the last one, so please. Give it some thought.

Now I think Memphis is 'overcompensating' for Durant. Anyone on my side?

I think it is useless to rip this trade apart and present a real argument when it is almost definitive that there will be another Durant trade posted very shortly. I'm just going to reject.

Milwaukee- I know that Durant would do a lot of benefit. That's why Im willing to put that much out. New York- I am trying hard to offer a package you and the other guys would like. I can add my 1st in '11 if that would help your judgement out.

OKC IMO would never realistically trade Durant and I don't think Memphis would demolish the team its' built for one player. It's not about quantity, it is about quality. Superstars in small markets define their teams and sometimes their cities (see Lebron and Cleveland). The only way Durant could move in my opinion is if they got another player back who is capable of being the face of the franchise and who could carry the team. Neither Rudy Gay or OJ Mayo can do that. and this too!

Ok. Trades have to be reasonable. Right? Uprading in depth and keeping talent is a good thing. I see what you're saying about stars in small markets. I just don't see how having options when teams start keying on Durant is a bad thing. This gives OkC two guys that are almost stars which creates more options for a team needing help. In the front court, Thabeet, and continuing to build, all the picks.

OKC does not need help, they won 50 games last season. They have Westbrook, Green and Harden to go with Durant who are all young and will only get better. There only weak position is center and Thabeet won't really help that.

As far as fairness goes, I think that this is actually good value for Durant... maybe too much value. I don't think it is a good idea to label a player as "untradeable"... but Durant is pretty damn close. Although this trade would never happen in real life, I am going to accept based on fairness alone.
However, I think there may be some problem with the contracts. Durant was drafted in 2007 and Mayo was drafted in 2008, but this post has them expiring at the same time. Rudy Gay was drafted in 2006, so he should be 1 year shorter than Durant, who should be 1 year shorter than Mayo.

This need to be changed in the Players and Salaries thread too. Nice eye, would never have noticed that OJ Mayo - $4,165,560 - $4,456,200 - $5,632,637 - $7,390,019

New York, you think they need front court help. Would your status change any if I were to switch Randolph with Mayo, since they have Harden at that position?

Well there will probably be a billion more trades to come from the Thunder so I don't think it really matters either way. The return for Durant is actually quite good so even though if this happened in real life the people in OKC would riot I will change my stance and accept this deal.

The trade is accepted regardless now, but I'm not against it. I accept.
Trade Finalized.

Actually, in another piece of shrewd planning I'm sure, Oklahoma City must cut a player before this deal can go through.
