73 Luke Walton - $4,840,000 - $5,260,000 - $5,680,000 - $6,100,000 76 Mike Conley - $3,883,800 - $4,913,007 - $6,480,25671 Adam Morrison - $5,257,229 - $6,897,48468 Steven Hunter - $3,696,000 LAL 2011 1st round pick (unprotected) total: $17,677,029 for 65 Eddy Curry - $10,500,423 - $11,276,863 80 David Lee - $7,000,000 total: $17,500,423 well after 48 hours of thinking i accept Conley has a great future after his last & best season with MEM...but Lee is 4 ratings points better...i'll try kobe at the PG and Lee will be my 6th man at PF and C. Curry's contract is the most horrible in the league, compared to his rating, but still the deal is imo good for me

I accept, in part 1 of Operation Eliminate Eddy he is paired with David Lee because alone he is untradeable. I never had any plans to keep Lee in free agency so losing him now doesn't really mean all that much though he is a very good player. With this deal I only save about 1 million dollars but part 2 of this is to move Luke Walton and maybe Conley, but I think I might just keep him because Hinrich and Conley make a good 1 2 punch at PG. Morrison and Hunter are just fillers since they both expire and I pick up a 1st rounder for next year, if you can even call the Lakers pick a 1st, between 25 and 30 guarenteed. Anyway these deals should clear my books to be able to sign two max deals and some small deals to fill out my roster.

Curry's second year is a player option btw, not that it really matters since there is a 100% chance that he will pick up the option.

I hate to shoot down another one of LAL's trades, but I'm not so sure about this one either...
To me, the dump of Curry in this trade is basically nonexistent. New York gains no cap for next season in this trade and actually picks up a nasty contract that is 2 years longer than Currys. Value-wise, I think New York could get a lot more for David Lee, even if he is expiring. Michael Conley isn't exactly a starting calibur PG, and you get the sense that he would definitely be on the bench if the Grizzlies had anyone else to play there. This trade seems rushed to me, and I would have liked to see NY try to get more value for Lee before sending him off.
From LAL's standpoint, he basically increases 4 rating points (Conley 76 to Lee 80). However, in doing this, he is going to have to play players out of position. As an owner of NBA Live 07 myself, I can tell you right now that Kobe's rating will decrease if you put him at pg and Artest will decrease if you put him at sg. The Lakers also have virtually no possibility of resigning Lee, which I don't think matters to much since the GM basically is turning Derek Fisher into David Lee, but it still doesn't really make sense for LAL.
I am not too far from accepting this, but I'm also not too far from rejecting it... with that being said, I am leaving my vote neutral until I hear some opinions of other committee members.

Simply dumping Eddy Curry is a nearly impossible task. With this deal I don't get immediate cap relief but I get two guys who are very tradeable. Luke Walton is a little bit overpayed but not to the point that it affects a team and hurts their ability to make moves, and he is still a great role player to fill out a roster. Conley won't be the star Memphis hoped but he is still a promising young PG prospect. As for David Lee his value is hurt by being with Curry. The only way to get rid of him is to give up some assets. I really don't want to give up Chandler or Gallo or draft picks but I don't mind giving up Lee because he was never in my long term plans, he was just my back up in case things went bad.
As for LAL I figured he would turn around and move Lee and or Odom at full value for a low/mid 80s point guard or something.

After thinking about it, I probably did rush into it. I am not sure how much more I could have got though but there was probably a better deal somewhere. I would still like to see this go through, but if it doesn't then I have options.

dunno whats the problem...the trade committe only should reject trades who are very loopsided...this is not...actually im paying a heavy price in giving 4 players + a first rounder to get a 4 point better player... my lineup has nothing to do with this trade...i would do this also without this trade... so plz committe dont look at my lineup...im expirienced enough to get a functional team...

It's true David Lee is 4 points higher than Conley, but we all know David Lee's trade value is significantly higher than any of the players involved in this deal.
However, with the inclusion of cap-crippling-Curry and LAL's 1st, even though it'll be a late 1st rounder, I accept.
I think this benefits the Lakers more, but I accept.
